The awards will honor Oregon animals and people. Animal heroes can be those pets who have acted to save a human or animal life in peril, who have performed services within the community with undying loyalty, or who have overcome incredible odds to survive. Human heroes can be those who have had a positive impact on the lives of animals, exhibiting courage and compassion in the pursuit of animals’ well-being in Oregon.

The OHS Heroes Luncheon presenting the Diamond Collar Awards will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the MAC Club, 1849 SW Salmon St., Portland, OR 97205.

2012 Winners

Last year, the Oregon Humane Society honored five heroes with Diamond Collar Awards, recognizing these pets and people for remarkable achievements in helping others. See all winners and watch their videos to be inspired and motivated to nominate your own hero.

Award nominations are open for all two- and four-legged heroes. The deadline to nominate heroes is February 7, 2013. Nominations can be delivered to OHS or submitted online. Any supporting materials for online nominations must be received by February 7, and should be postmarked no later than Feb. 3.
